They recorded the lyrics during the same night, making changes at the last minute too. They recorded the music video the next day on November 30th, 2024. Bap is the first single released by mad routine on February 2nd, 2025, after the debut EP in a mood. It was first revealed and made available on YouTube during a livestream on December 1st, 2024. The name of the song refers to boom bap.

History
The beginning
The instrumental was originally called bap underground, made by City sometime during the summer of 2024. He later sent V the babyboy lyrics section because the community kept calling him so. They decided to finish the song on November 29th, 2024 for the reveal discussion stream. This was the first time V wrote a chorus in front of someone in real life. They recorded the lyrics during the same night, making changes at the last minute too. They recorded the music video the next day on November 30th, 2024. City mixed the song and V edited the video that night.
